Bursting Out - Jethro Tull (1978)

And here, Finally, the first and best work live Jethro Tull . Bursting Out collects all the band's career so far (its first 10 years, no less) in a live that can only be described one way: BRUTAL. It is simply one of the best Jethro Tull formations ( Anderson - Barre - Evan - Barlow - Palmer - Glascock), at its best and playing the very best of everything repertoire for an hour and a half.

The truth is that Jethro Tull long time to record a full album live (given that there are 12 previous studio albums), and might not choose the best time to decide to do (the Punk had to break hard, kicking all the great music and claiming the "philosophy" of mediocrity), but, yes, the band shown in Bursting Out that good musicians are imperishable and incorruptible, and are capable of giving the audience a good dose of good material (which the audience wanted to hear) with a high quality in all aspects (interpretive, technical, artistic ...). Notably

: cut 8 of the first album, which features a wonderful improvisation Ian Anderson on flute, culminating in that magnificent Bourée of Johann Sebastian Bach, the always perfect Thick As A Brick, the visceral Cross-Eyed Mary, Aqualung classic, and the utterly bestial Locomotive Breath, introduced by the superb piano and John Evan culminates with overwhelming force.

Absolutely essential.
